Jumping To Conclusions

See that post down there? The one about the teacher at Wharton accused of a relationship with a teenager? See how sanctimonious I am? See how I jumped to conclusions before the whole story began trickling out?

In perusing Tommy's site I noted Kate's post and comment. She has inside info at Wharton. Word is that the "victim" in all this isn't even the one who brought the complaint. Her mom and she had nothing to do with it. It was started by the mother of another basketball team member and it purportedly started as a complaint about a Math grade.

Not one iota of physical evidence. Just the nasty whisperings of a mom who is probably really upset that her kid wasn't getting enough playing time on the court (I've seen these sporty parents, it isn't pretty).

I apologize to Jaymee Wallace. If it's found otherwise, my previous post stands. But I gotta tell you, I'm getting the creepiest feeling from this story. It is starting to stink of "Mean Girls."

A Predator is a Predator (Even if She's Gay)
Police: Teacher had an affair with student (via stpetetimes.com)

"...a longtime Wharton High School math teacher who also coached the girls' basketball team, has been charged with having a long-running sexual relationship with a female student.

"(She), 28, turned herself in to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's Ybor City headquarters Monday and was booked into the county jail on one count of lewd and lascivious battery - a second-degree felony."

You know what, fellow lesbians? We are obligated, as adults, to act like adults. This affair started when the teach was 26 and the girl 14. Can't those of us with "issues" learn to shut it the heck off?

...and we're (lesbians) always the first to say "We're better than that" when we hear about a man doing the same thing.
